Baking with Beer: A Hands-On History Lesson - Sunday October 7th, 5-8:30 pm

Baker and historian, Maia Surdam, will offer this unique workshop that is equal parts history lesson and baking class. Learn about the ancient history of bread and beer, consider how each depends on the fermentation of grains, and discover ways to incorporate beer (& brewing by-products) into your baking practice. Participants will learn how to make a sourdough loaf of beer bread, as well as crackers using spent grain. The class is intended for people over 21, and the cost of a ticket includes beer samples.
