August 2-4 — “Baking the Past: Using Food, Writing, and Storytelling to Connect with our History and Ourselves” — Join OWL co-owner and historian Maia Surdam at the Walnut Schoolhouse in Marshall, NC for this unique culinary experience. For this weekend, Maia will partner with Brennan Johnson (a former bread baker of OWL) who has taken over a storied wood-fired oven in Marshall to create delicious food and educational events.
